As your little one grows and transforms from a small, dependent baby into an amazing, adorable and often precocious one year old, a lot will change in your household, including the books that you read together.  We believe that reading with your one year old has countless benefits – from creating special traditions and moments that you and your child can share, to introducing your child to a wonderful, new, exciting world.

Not to mention that reading early and often will aid in the cognitive development of your child.  But apart from these great benefits, reading with your one year old is fun!  Read with your child to introduce and develop the joy and wonder of imagination, art, and prose, while helping your child grow and discover.  Our team of parents and preschool teachers have thought long and hard about our list of the “best books for one year olds.”  We have also created various categories that we think you will find helpful in your search for those special books to share with your child.

So please explore the categories (links to the right).  We are certain that you will discover some new treasures and be reminded of some treasures from your own past!

We hope that the growth and development of this site will be a community effort. So please send us comments and suggestions for books, categories and improvement (we accept praise too!), and please do leave your feedback about the books listed here by commenting!

Thanks for coming by, and we hope that you find lots of books that both you and your one year old will enjoy over and over again!
